All the equipment that you will need for your dental practice
Our goal is to help you find the right equipment for your dental clinic. This article will cover the different types of equipment and instruments used in a clinic. It will be useful if you’re thinking about opening a clinic, renewing a product line or just want to learn more about specific products.
Let’s begin with the most basic tools needed in a clinic.
These dental instruments are essential for any dentist’s examination tray.
The mirror is a vital dental instrument that allows dentists access to the patient’s mouth to perform examinations. Because of its small size and versatility, it is a simple but very useful instrument that allows for perfect working vision.
Probes – T The probe is an instrument with a long, thin tip. It can be found in two types:
Scanning probe This is a classic, but still useful instrument that can be used to determine levels of bacteria plaque, caries, and other issues.
eDentra is the Dental Software used by dental offices to create treatment plans and schedule appointments. eDentra: eDentra, a cloud-based software for managing dental practices, is a dental software. A Dental Software manages the operations of a dental practice, including financial, legal, administrative, and compliance. It also includes business intelligence and revenue cycle management.
Forceps Another basic tool used in dentistry, the dental forceps can be used for many tasks. These instruments are used to remove tissues, hold them together and suture them. They also transport small objects into the mouth. There are several types of forceps available depending on the task: surgical, hemostatic, ligatures and others.
PliersPliers can be used in dentistry to perform a variety of procedures, including cutting through wires or dowels or bending hooks. You can also use them to cut through plaster, and they come with a variety of tips. There are many types of pliers, depending on what function they serve.
Next: Small-scale equipment and rotary instruments
These instruments are known as rotary instruments. They allow rotation movements at different speeds to move the dental bur at its end. These instruments must be connected to other dental equipment. The type of connection will determine the couplings.
Turbines A dental turbine is a rotary device that is driven directly by air compression through the dental unit’s line via a coupling. It is the fastest rotary equipment but has the least torque. This is recommended for jobs that have greater resistance to treatment. We will be discussing dental turbines in greater detail in this article.
Motors: These motors can be used to treat semihard dental tissue. The instrument is connected with the dental equipment hoses via a variable connection system. Variable working speeds and torques can also be used. Two different instruments can be placed on the micromotor by the dentist: straight and contra-angle. We have provided all information you need about micromotors in this post.
Straight handpieces: These are the lowest speed rotary instruments, between 20,000 and 40,000. Usually they are not used in the mouth. These instruments are used to refine the prosthesis. They are attached to a micromotor and may or may not be light. We will be sharing some useful tips on straight handpieces in this article.
Contra-Angle handpieces: Used to clean the mouth, prepare fillings and remove decaying material. These instruments are slow-speed and high-torque.
Before we move on to the next equipment type, let’s not forget the different couplings required depending on the type of connection. This post will provide all the details you need.
Light Curing Dentistry Lamps: These lamps can be used to light-cure dental materials, particularly adhesives and composites. These lamps emit ultraviolet light which causes light-curing materials to harden and polymerize quickly. Coltene SPEC3 Spec 3 curing lamp is a good example.
Apex Finders: Appex Locators measure the resistance, frequency, and impedance of surrounding materials to determine the length of the root canal that needs to be treated. We recommend the WOODPEX PRO LCD Apex Locator for this purpose. It is a great value for money.
Large machines and appliances:
Steam sterilizers: To sterilize with steam at temperatures greater than 100oC an autoclave (typically class A) is also required.
Xrays: Radiographic tests are used in dentistry for diagnosis and treatment. There are many types of materials that can be used to take xrays. These include developer boxes, negatoscopes and negatoscopes as well as xray holders, xray positioners, protective material, cleaning materials, sensors protectors, stain removers and fixers.
Moving on To Clinic Furniture:
Cabinet Lamps –Cabinet lights are essential tools in any dental clinic. They are needed to perform precise and comfortable work. The head and arm are composed of an articulated arm. A concave surface reflects the halogen or LED light at a Kelvin level as natural as possible. This allows both the professional and the patient to see realistic colours while providing comfort. These lamps can also be mounted on a wall or floor.
Medical Stools: Buying a dental stool is a big decision. The dentist needs to be able to perform his job in maximum comfort. To avoid long-term problems, ergonomics and tripod support are important. There are two types of stool available depending on what level of comfort you want for your dental practice or the tasks that you need to perform.
A complete dental unit can be purchased with the purchase of dental chairs. The dental chair may either be purchased as a whole or just the chair. Along with other elements like control panels, autoclaves and glass filling.
Let’s not forget the consumables:
There are many other equipment you can purchase to meet your daily clinic requirements.
Dental Composites
Latex Gloves
Bib napkins
Dental burs
Endodontic Instruments
