Party offers small children, moms and dads a purpose to smile

Salina Dental Arts dentists and personnel will host their third annual Give Kids A Smile event from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5, to provide free dental products and services to underserved children.

“We served about 100 little ones previous year and hope to provide 100-150 this 12 months,” claimed Karlie Miller, office administrator for Salina Dental Arts. “Our purpose is to elevate consciousness of the epidemic of untreated dental disease in our local community since we know that almost a single in four kids underneath the age of 5 already has cavities, in accordance to the U.S. Facilities for Illness Control and Prevention. We want to do our portion to attempt to enable the small children in our group sustain superior oral overall health and really feel comfortable going to the dentist.”

Quite a few kids enrolled in Medicaid obtain no dental providers during the calendar year.
