Get Fit Challenge begins this week at Great Lakes Health & Fitness

For those who want encouragement with weight loss resolutions, the annual “Get Fit Challenge” sign-up is this weekend at Great Lakes Health & Fitness, Coldwater.

Sign-up times are 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday; 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday-Sunday. Entry fee is $20 and participants must wear a T-shirt and shorts to the first weigh-in. Weekly weigh-ins will be held the same days and times.

Standings of contestants will be printed in the Thursday edition of The Daily Reporter, ranked according to the percentage of weight lost.

Winners of the 11-week contest in male and female categories will take home $400 cash and a one-year membership to Great Lakes Health & Fitness, a value of more than $700.

Second-place participants each receive $200 cash.

Winners of the weekly drawings receive a prize of at least $70.

At sign-up, contestants have the option of one-year membership for $499.

Get Fit Challenge sponsors are Great Lakes Health & Fitness, Coldwater Media Group and Farm Bureau Insurance, Scott Fair Agency.
